Identifying these interactions is essential for designing public policies to promote innovation.

Incorporating Artificial Intelligence Technology in Smart Greenhouses: Current State of the Art

Summary: This article presents the current state-of-the-art research on applying AI technology in smart greenhouses, focusing on optimizing crop yields, water and fertilizer use efficiency, reducing pest and disease, and enhancing agricultural sustainability. Key technologies include robotic systems for pesticide application and irrigation, bio-inspired algorithms for automation, machine path planning and operation of UAVs, resolution of scheduling problems, and image signal processing for pest and disease diagnosis. The review also investigates the cost benefits of energy-management and AI-based energy-saving technologies, as well as the integration of various technologies. Despite exponential growth in commercially viable AI technologies for agriculture, challenges such as cost, technology gaps, and tradeoffs between accuracy and computational speed remain unresolved. Nevertheless, this review provides valuable insights into the maturity and successful application of AI technologies in smart greenhouses.

Is FDI a potential tool for boosting firm's performance? Firm level evidence from Ecuador

Summary: The evidence on the effects of FDI on firm-level economic and financial performance in developing countries is mixed. To contribute to this research, we examine the effects of FDI on firm performance in Ecuador using different performance measures. Our results show that firms with inward FDI experience faster growth and higher levels of gross revenues. We also find both positive and negative spillover effects of FDI on different performance indicators.

Artificial neural network and multi-criteria decision-making methods for the remediation of soil oil pollution in the southwest of Iran

Summary: Oil pollution has significant effects on soil properties. Various methods, including physical, chemical, and biological methods, can be used to remove and reduce oil spill in soil. The study aimed to find the most efficient method for soil oil spill remediation using artificial neural network (ANN), technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), and fuzzy method. The results showed that the biological extraction method was the most efficient, and there was consistency between the ANN and TOPSIS results. Comparatively, using ANN led to a faster decision-making strategy for the remediation of polluted soils.

Integration of artificial intelligence with meta classifiers for the gully erosion susceptibility assessment in Hinglo river basin, Eastern India
