The revised JBI critical appraisal tool for the assessment of risk of bias for randomized controlled trials

Timothy Hugh Barker et al.

Summary: JBI has started updating and revising its critical appraisal tools to align with recent developments in risk of bias science. This paper presents the revised critical appraisal tool for assessing risk of bias in randomized controlled trials, along with guidance on interpretation and application by systematic reviewers. It also discusses the major changes and their justification for facilitating best-practice methodologies.

Combined Effects of Citrulline Plus Nitrate-Rich Beetroot Extract Co-Supplementation on Maximal and Endurance-Strength and Aerobic Power in Trained Male Triathletes: A Randomized Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

Jose Burgos et al.

Summary: Citrulline and nitrate-rich beetroot extract are two supplements that can enhance athletic performance. This study found that combining these two supplements and taking 3 grams of citrulline and 2.1 grams of beetroot extract (300 mg of nitrate) daily for 9 weeks can increase maximal and endurance strength. Additionally, this combination showed improved performance in tests related to aerobic power compared to taking citrulline or beetroot extract alone.
