A Systematic Review on the Association Between Vestibular Dysfunction and Balance Performance in Children With Hearing Loss

Summary: The objective of this study was to understand the impact of vestibular dysfunction on balance control in children with hearing loss. The results showed that children with both hearing loss and vestibular impairment tend to perform worse on balance tests compared to children with only hearing loss or children with normal hearing and normal vestibular function.

Three Years of Vestibular Infant Screening in Infants With Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Summary: This study investigated the vestibular screening results of hearing-impaired infants in Flanders, Belgium and found that 13.8% of the infants had abnormal vestibular screening results. Infants with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss were found to be at the highest risk for abnormal vestibular screening results.
