Eye Opening and Chaotic: Resilience and Self-Determination of Secondary Students with Disabilities Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

Summary: This study aimed to understand the experiences and strengths of students with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings showed that students' personal resilience was evident in their educational experiences, individual attributes, and interpersonal connections, with three emergent themes identified in their reflections on COVID-19: adaptability, increased social awareness, and disability identity. Suggestions were made on leveraging student strengths to address long-standing educational inequities beyond the pandemic.
