Dietary supplementation of microalgae mitigates the negative effects of heat stress in broilers

Ajay Chaudhary et al.

Summary: Heat stress in poultry is a serious concern, but supplementing their diet with microalgae can improve their health and productivity. This study aimed to investigate the effects of microalgae supplementation on heat-stressed broilers. The results showed that microalgae supplementation improved the growth performance and gene expression of heat-stressed broilers, as well as increased microbial diversity.

Review: β-glucans as Effective Antibiotic Alternatives in Poultry

Betty Schwartz et al.

Summary: The occurrence of microbial challenges in commercial poultry farming leads to significant economic losses, and antibiotics have been widely used to control diseases. However, with the increasing problem of antibiotic resistance, producers are under pressure to reduce antibiotic use and are looking for feed additives to stimulate the immune system of poultry to resist microbial infection.
