Dilepton production from hot and magnetized hadronic matter

Rajkumar Mondal et al.

Summary: In this study, the rate of dilepton emission from a magnetized hot hadronic medium is calculated based on the real-time formalism of finite temperature field theory. The one-loop self-energy of neutral rho mesons is evaluated, taking into account the thermomagnetic propagators of charged pions in the loop. The in-medium thermomagnetic spectral function of rho is found to be proportional to the dilepton production rate, and the study also reveals the existence of a nontrivial yield in the low invariant-mass region due to the Landau level occupation effect of charged pions in scattering with neutral rho mesons.

Rate and ellipticity of dilepton production in a magnetized quark-gluon plasma

Xinyang Wang et al.

Summary: The study derives an explicit expression for the dilepton production rate in a quantizing background magnetic field from a hot quark-gluon plasma, investigating its dependence on dilepton invariant mass, transverse momentum, angular dependence, and ellipticity. The results show a strong enhancement of dilepton rate at small invariant mass values due to the magnetic field and a decrease in the magnetic field's role at large invariant mass values.

Lepton pair production from a hot and dense QCD medium in the presence of an arbitrary magnetic field

Aritra Das et al.

Summary: This article explores the quantity of lepton pair production in a hot and dense QCD medium in the presence of an external magnetic field. It considers both the parallel and perpendicular components of the dilepton momentum and observes contributions from both annihilation and decay processes. The results show a considerable enhancement of lepton pair production in the presence of a magnetic field, and the analysis incorporates the effects of magnetic catalysis and inverse magnetic catalysis.

Shear viscosity of hadronic matter at finite temperature and magnetic field

Ritesh Ghosh et al.

Summary: Using the linear sigma model, we calculate the transport coefficient of hadronic matter in the presence of temperature and magnetic field. We find that the transport coefficients are anisotropic in the presence of the magnetic field. Additionally, we calculate the temperature and magnetic-field-dependent anisotropic shear viscosity coefficients and discuss the behavior of the perpendicular components of the shear-viscous coefficient.

Di-lepton production from a single photon in strong magnetic fields: vacuum dichroism

Koichi Hattori et al.

Summary: The study focuses on di-lepton production from a single photon in the presence of a strong constant magnetic field. The analytical evaluation of the photon-to-di-lepton conversion vertex shows an anisotropic di-lepton spectrum dependent on photon polarization, with discretized transverse and longitudinal momenta in the presence of Landau quantization. Additionally, strict prohibition of di-lepton production for massless fermions in the lowest Landau levels is observed due to helicity suppression.

Photon polarization tensor in a magnetized plasma: Absorptive part

Xinyang Wang et al.

Summary: The study calculates the absorptive part of the photon polarization tensor in a hot magnetized relativistic plasma and explores the differential photon emission rate in the quantum limit. Photon emission at low energies shows a prolate profile with the symmetry axis along the magnetic field line, while at high energies, it has an oblate profile. The underlying reasons for these emission profiles are provided in both cases.

Dilepton production from magnetized quark matter with an anomalous magnetic moment of the quarks using a three-flavor PNJL model

Nilanjan Chaudhuri et al.

Summary: Dilepton production from hot, dense and magnetized quark matter is studied using the three-flavor Polyakov loop extended Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) model, taking into consideration the anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) of the quarks. The constituent quark mass, heavily dependent on temperature, density, magnetic field and AMM, captures the effect of strong interactions specifically around the chiral and confinement-deconfinement phase transition regions. The analytic structure of the spectral function in the complex energy plane reveals a nontrivial Landau cut, leading to a largely enhanced dilepton production rate in the low invariant mass region.
