Site-Directed Differentiation of Human Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Nucleus Pulposus Cells Using an Injectable Hydroxyl-Functional Diblock Copolymer Worm Gel

Summary: In utilizing worm gels as an injectable cell delivery scaffold, there is significant potential in promoting the transition of ASCs towards an NP phenotype. ASCs encapsulated within worm gels demonstrated higher gene expression levels compared to those within collagen scaffolds, regardless of growth factors used. These wholly synthetic worm gels may serve as an effective option for treating degenerate disk disease.
