Single-port versus multiport partial nephrectomy: a propensity-score-matched comparison of perioperative and short-term outcomes

Summary: This study compared the perioperative and postoperative outcomes of single-port and multiport robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed 180 cases of SILTEP performed by a single surgeon, and found that approximately 60 cases are needed to overcome the learning curve for SILTEP in terms of reducing operation time and achieving a surgical failure rate below 10%. Further proficiency could be achieved after approximately 85 SILTEP procedures with a stable operation time of around 35 minutes.

This study evaluated the short- and long-term outcomes of SIL totally extraperitoneal (TEP) hernia repair with a large number of cases. Results showed that SIL-TEP hernia repair is safe and feasible with acceptable short- and long-term outcomes, but further large-scale randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.
