The potential mechanism underlying the hepatorenal toxicity induced by hymexazol in rats and the role of NF-κB signaling pathway

Neven H. Hassan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the dose-dependent hepatorenal toxicity of HML in rats and revealed that it induces oxidative stress-mediated NF-kappa B signaling pathway in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta. Limiting the use of HML in agriculture and veterinary practices and finding alternative agents are necessary to avoid the health risks associated with HML exposure.

Mechanistic Approach on the Pulmonary Oxido-Inflammatory Stress Induced by Cobalt Ferrite Nanoparticles in Rats

Eman I. Hassanen et al.

Summary: Cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (CFN) are widely used in various fields and have been found to induce dose-dependent oxidative stress and pulmonary toxicity in rats, while a low dosage of CFN does not exhibit significant toxicity. Understanding the mechanisms of CFN-induced pulmonary toxicity is important for risk assessment and human health protection.

Neuroprotective effect of quercetin and nano-quercetin against cyclophosphamide-induced oxidative stress in the rat brain: Role of Nrf2/ HO-1/Keap-1 signaling pathway

Dina A. AbdElrazek et al.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the neuroprotective mechanism of quercetin (Qu) and quercetin-loaded Chitosan nanoparticles (Qu-Ch NPs) against brain oxidative damage induced by cyclophosphamide (CP) in rats. The results showed that pretreatment with Qu and Qu-Ch NPs exhibited significant antioxidative, antidepressant, and neuroprotective effects through modulation of neurobehavioral parameters, neurochemical status, and gene expression levels.

Newly synthesized chitosan-nanoparticles attenuate carbendazim hepatorenal toxicity in rats via activation of Nrf2/HO1 signalling pathway

Elshazly Mo et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of modified chitosan nanoparticles (CS-NPs) on hepatic and nephrotoxicity of carbendazim (CBZ) in rats. The results showed that CS-NPs could reduce the toxic effects of CBZ through their antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and anti-inflammatory effects. CBZ caused hepatorenal toxicity via oxidative stress and the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

Antioxidant and antiapoptotic effects of quercetin against ochratoxin A-induced nephrotoxicity in broiler chickens

Rehab E. Abdelrahman et al.

Summary: This study found that the flavonoid quercetin can protect broiler chickens against nephrotoxicity induced by the mycotoxin ochratoxin A. Exposure to ochratoxin A resulted in increased levels of certain blood markers and decreased renal antioxidants, while coadministration of quercetin mitigated these toxic effects.

Cytotoxicity and Genotoxicity of Copper oxide Nanoparticles in chickens

Eman A. Morsy et al.

Summary: The study investigated the dose-dependent effects of copper oxide nanoparticles on broiler chickens, revealing negative impacts on growth performance, immune status, oxidant/antioxidant capacity, DNA status, and histological structures of edible organs. Results showed harmful effects such as increased malondialdehyde levels, DNA fragmentation, and histopathological alterations, leading to reduced weight gain, food conversion ratio, and antioxidant activity. It is concluded that CuO-NPs are cytotoxic and should not be added to poultry feed.

Cisplatin-conjugated gold nanoparticles-based drug delivery system for targeting hepatic tumors

Eman I. Hassanen et al.

Summary: The study found that gold nanoparticles not only improve the distribution of cisplatin, targeting it to the site of tumors, but also reduce the renal toxicity induced by cisplatin, which are the primary concerns in cancer therapy.

The role of silver nanoparticles in the reluctance of colisepticemia in broiler chickens

M. H. H. Awaad et al.

Summary: This study found that low doses of Ag-NPs are beneficial in treating colisepticemia in broiler chickens, improving performance, reducing lesion scores, and altering the electron microscopic profile of E. coli. However, high doses of Ag-NPs had severe negative effects on all measured parameters.

Marconi Italo Lourenco da Silva et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the impact of adding environmental enrichment resources on the behavior and welfare of broiler chickens. The results showed that chickens in the enriched environment exhibited higher exploratory activity and behaviors associated with comfort, with differences in feeding frequency at different time periods and better animal welfare indicators.
