Low-Spin Fe Redox-Based Prussian Blue with excellent selective dual-band electrochromic modulation and energy-saving applications

Dajiang Tang et al.

Summary: Dual-band electrochromic materials (DBEMs) are essential for the independent control of visible and near-infrared light in smart windows. Prussian blue (PB) demonstrates remarkable performance as a replacement for composite DBEMs, with excellent durability and capacity achieved. A dual-band electrochromic device (DBED) using PB thin films exhibits superior performance and can be powered by solar irradiation, advancing the design of efficient and durable DBEMs and the development of bi-functional smart windows.

Flexible Sensors for Hydrogen Peroxide Detection: A Critical Review

Jacopo E. Giaretta et al.

Summary: This review provides an overview of different types of sensors developed for detecting H2O2, comparing their flexibility, stability, cost, and detection limits. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of various substrates used for H2O2 sensor design and the impact of nanostructures on sensor performance. The review concludes that while these sensors have high detection limits, there are still limitations in their real-world application.

Graphene Quantum Dot-Doped PEDOT for Simultaneous Determination of Ascorbic Acid, Dopamine, and Uric Acid

Hong Chul Lim et al.

Summary: We propose a novel strategy to prepare PEDOT thin films doped with GQD as an electrode active material for an electrochemical biosensor. The PEDOT-GQD was prepared through simultaneous electropolymerization and doping of EDOT using an ionic complex without any additives. The resulting PEDOT-GQD exhibits expanded-coil structure, enhanced intramolecular electron transfer, and interfacial charge transfer, as well as a porous structure with interconnected 3D networks. PEDOT-GQD shows high electrocatalytic activity and performs excellent in the simultaneous detection of ascorbic acid, dopamine, and uric acid, with high sensitivity, selectivity, reproducibility, and stability.

New Highly Stable Ionic Compounds Composed of Multivalent Graphene Quantum Dot Anions and Alkali Metal Cations

Hong Chul Lim et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new class of ionic compounds with graphene quantum dots polyanions and alkali metal cations, which exhibit better lithium transference number than conventional LiPF6 electrolyte, improving interfacial stability in battery performance. The Prussian blue thin film utilizing K-GQD as electrolyte shows higher K+ cation mobility and improved electrochromic behaviour compared to controls using traditional electrolytes.
