Cortado a la medida de Juan Boscán: traducción y recepción de El cortesano de Castiglione en España

Resumen El presente articulo estudia la traduccion de Il cortegiano de Castiglione a lengua castellana elaborada por Juan Boscan (Barcelona, 1534), asi como su recepcion en Espana. Erigido en verdadero emblema de la cultura renacentista, El cortesano esbozo entre los margenes de sus cuatro libros la figura del moderno gentiluomo, modelo antropologico de largo recorrido y alcance internacional que, con metamorfosis parciales, definiria al hombre de mundo que poblo las cortes y la sociedad politica del Antiguo Regimen. Partiendo de este hecho (y siempre en el marco de un fenomeno europeo), se trata aqui de explicar someramente la genesis de su traduccion espanola, se ofrece una renovada reconstruccion de su trayectoria editorial a lo largo del siglo XVI -con especial atencion a la incorporacion de paratextos que condicionaron su lectura e interpretacion- y se analiza la influencia del dialogo sobre la literatura espanola, tanto en el ambito de la prosa de ideas (el discurso cortesano) como de la ficcion.
