Preparation and Evaluation of Graphene/Polyvinyl Alcohol-coated Thermoplastic Elastomer Filament

Imjoo Jung et al.

Summary: In this study, a conductive thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) filament was developed by coating it with a graphene/polyvinyl alcohol composite solution. The graphene content and the number of coatings were varied to analyze the effects on morphology, diameter increase, pick-up rate, DSC, TGA, tensile strength, and conductivity. The results showed that as the graphene content and the number of coatings increased, the diameter, weight, enthalpy, and residue also increased. The adhesion and tensile strength were the best for a graphene content of 2 wt% and the conductivity was the best for a graphene content of 16 wt%.
