Synthesis, spectral analysis, DFT calculations, biological potential and molecular docking studies of indole appended pyrazolo-triazine

S. M. Basavarajaiah et al.

Summary: A series of novel compounds were synthesized in a single step from 3,5-disubstituted indole-2-carbohydrazide and 4-aminoantipyrine under acidic conditions. These compounds exhibited excellent antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-tuberculosis activities, as well as potential as glucosidase inhibitors for the treatment of diabetes. Physicochemical characteristics, drug-likeness, and bioactivity scores for these molecules were also studied. Computational methods were used to analyze the electronic behavior of one of the compounds, and molecular docking studies were performed for the synthesized compounds with human maltase-glucoamylase.

Exploration of Indolo[3,2c]isoquinoline derived triazoles as potential antimicrobial and DNA cleavage agents: Synthesis, DFT calculations, and molecular modeling studies

Suliphuldevarada Mathada Basavarajaiah et al.

Summary: In this study, new 9-chloro-1-(4-substituted phenyl)-12H-indolo[2,3-c][1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-a]isoquinolines 7 (a-h) were synthesized and their structures were confirmed using various spectroscopic techniques. DFT calculations and drug-likeness predictions were performed on the synthesized compounds. The antimicrobial and DNA cleavage activities of the compounds were evaluated, and the compounds 7a, 7b, and 7h showed promising results. Docking studies revealed that all synthesized compounds had good binding affinity towards Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor tyrosine kinase and C-kit Tyrosine Kinase. Molecular dynamics simulations were also carried out to investigate protein stability and identify potential lead molecules.

Summary: This study utilized a probiotic bacterium, Bacillus coagulans (ATCC 7050), as a nano-factory to biosynthesize zinc oxide nanoparticles. Characterization techniques confirmed the formation of spherical zinc oxide nanoparticles with a mean size of 10-19 nm and positive potential. These biosynthesized nanoparticles exhibited strong antimicrobial activity against various bacteria and yeast. Furthermore, an electrochemical analysis revealed high current production in a voltaic cell composed of zinc oxide nanoparticles and bacterial metabolites.
