Solubility measurement, correlation, and dissolution thermodynamics of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane • 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5, 7-tetrazocane (2HNIW•HMX) co-crystal in two binary solvent mixtures

Qian Jia et al.

Summary: This study measured the solubility of 2HNIW center dot HMX co-crystal in two binary solvent mixtures and analyzed the relationship between solubility, temperature, and the mass fraction of the solvents. The results showed that the solubility decreased with increasing temperature and solvent mass fraction. The solubility data were correlated with different models, and the modified Apelblat model and CNIBS/R-K model provided the best fit. Thermodynamic properties of the co-crystal dissolution process were studied using the van't Hoff equation, revealing that the dissolution is an exothermic process. The findings can inform the selection of solvent systems for reaction, crystallization, and purification processes involving the co-crystal.

Study on dissolution behavior of naphazoline nitrate in four binary solvents: Determination, modeling, Hansen solubility parameter and thermodynamic analysis

Yameng Wan et al.

Summary: The solubility data of naphazoline nitrate in four binary solvents were determined using the laser monitoring method at temperatures ranging from 278.15 K to 323.15 K. The solubility values increased with temperature and the mass fraction of the positive solvent. Four activity coefficient models provided good fitting for the solubility data. The miscibility between naphazoline nitrate and selected solvents was discussed using Hansen solubility parameters. Thermodynamic properties of the dissolution process and mixing process were evaluated using the UNIQUAC model.

Investigation on co-solvency, solvent effect, Hansen solubility parameter and preferential solvation of fenbufen dissolution and models correlation

Yang Cong et al.

Summary: Solubility is a significant molecular property that poses challenges in pharmaceuticals development. This study measured the solubility of fenbufen in various solvents and investigated solvation behavior, solvent effects, Hansen solubility parameters, model correlation, and thermodynamic properties. The results showed a positive correlation between solubility and temperature and demonstrated the influence of different solvents. Co-solvency was observed in certain solvent mixtures, and the solubility of fenbufen in mixtures was analyzed using Hansen solubility parameters. Four models were used to correlate the solubility data, and the thermodynamic properties indicated an entropy increment and endothermic process in the dissolution of fenbufen.

Thermodynamic analysis of solubility, distribution and solvation of antifungal miconazole in relevant pharmaceutical media

Angelica Sharapova et al.

Summary: In this work, the solubility of antifungal drug miconazole in various solvents was measured and the influence of protolytic properties on solubility was studied. The modified Apelblat equation showed better correlation with experimental data than other models. The Hansen solubility parameters were used to investigate the miscibility of the compound with tested solvents. Thermodynamic functions and Gibbs energy contributions were calculated, and the temperature dependence of partition coefficients was determined.

Zhengxu Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the solubility of m-hydroxyacetophenone in different solvents using various thermodynamic and activity coefficient models, showing good predictive effects. Hansen solubility parameters were used to analyze solvent-solvent interactions, with solvent-solvent interaction playing a significant role. The dissolution process was found to be endothermic, non-spontaneous, and enthalpy-driven.

Study on solid-liquid equilibrium behavior of oxadiazine dissolved in 12 pure solvents: Solubility determination, model correlation and molecular simulation

Shimei Luo et al.

Summary: The dissolution mechanism of oxadiazine was comprehensively explored using model calculation and molecular simulation. The solubility of oxadiazine in different solvents was measured, and it was found that the solubility varied greatly among solvents. The dissolution of oxadiazine was found to be spontaneous and entropy-driven. The Hansen solubility parameter was used to analyze the miscibility between oxadiazine and solvents, and it was concluded that the dissolution of oxadiazine was volume-dependent.

Solubility measurement, correlation and mixing properties of thioacetamide in fifteen pure solvents

Longjie Huang et al.

Summary: The solubility of thioacetamide in fifteen pure solvents was determined and correlated using four thermodynamic models. The NRTL model provided the best fitting results. The solvent effect was analyzed using the KAT-LSER model, which showed that hydrogen bond basicity and bipolarity/polarizability had a significant favorable effect on the dissolution of thioacetamide. The calculated mixing thermodynamic properties indicated that the dissolution process of thioacetamide was spontaneous and favorable.
