Developing a group-based virtual education curriculum for cardiac rehabilitation and the associated toolkit to support implementation in Canada and across the globe

Summary: This study describes the development of a new group-based virtual education model for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) and evaluates its user engagement and acceptability. The study identified five themes for improving the current education and used them to inform the development of the new curriculum. The results showed that over 70% of participants completed the recommended weekly education, indicating a high level of acceptability.

Translation and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program for cardiac rehabilitation patients in Latin America: A multi-national, longitudinal study

Summary: This study translated, cross-culturally adapted, and validated a comprehensive evidence-based cardiac rehabilitation education intervention in Latin America, demonstrating significant improvements in disease-related knowledge, health literacy, self-efficacy, and health behaviors pre- and post-CR, with sustained gains at 6 months post-program. Attendance at the cardiac rehabilitation program was associated with greater post-CR knowledge. The findings support wider implementation of the patient education intervention for Spanish-speaking populations in Latin America for secondary prevention.
