Effect of Non-Volatile Constituents of Elsholtzia ciliata (Thunb.) Hyl. from Southern Vietnam on Reactive Oxygen Species and Nitric Oxide Release in Macrophages

Dieu T. X. Nguyen et al.

Summary: Fifteen compounds were isolated from the extract of Elsholtzia ciliata aerial parts, including eleven flavonoids, three hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, and one fatty acid. Biological evaluation showed that all of these compounds exhibited good antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, with compound 13 showing particularly promising results.

Global and country-level estimates of human population at high altitude

Joshua C. Tremblay et al.

Summary: Global estimates of human population living at high altitude vary widely, with limited data available at the country level. A GIS-based approach was used to quantify human population at 500-m elevation intervals for each country. The study found that high altitude presents environmental stresses impacting physiological responses and disease prevalence.
