Vitamin D supplementation among Bangladeshi children under-five years of age hospitalised for severe pneumonia: A randomised placebo controlled trial

Summary: This study evaluated the effect of vitamin D supplementation on children hospitalized for severe pneumonia, and found that for children with sufficient serum vitamin D levels, vitamin D supplementation may help reduce the duration of pneumonia recovery. However, no similar effect was observed for patients with vitamin D deficiency or regardless of vitamin D levels.
