Suveksha Tamang et al.

Summary: Graphene and its derivatives, such as graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO), have been widely used in various applications due to their highly exploitable properties. The introduction of metal oxides (MOs) to the surface of these nanoparticles has been shown to significantly enhance their properties. This review article discusses various synthesis methods for GO and rGO, including a green approach for reducing GO to rGO. The article also discusses the properties of graphene and its derivatives, as well as their application in supercapacitors and catalysis.

Microwave assisted green synthesis of high capacitive TiO2 doped rGO nanosheets for supercapacitor applications

Waris et al.

Summary: The present study synthesized rGO nanosheets and TiO2 nanoparticles by a green method using aloe vera and gram seeds, respectively. A simple microwave-assisted approach was used to prepare the TiO2/rGO nanosheets composite. The as-prepared materials were characterized using SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, XPS, and Raman spectroscopy. The TiO2/rGO-NS composite exhibited a sheet-like nature and was used as the cathode with a carbon cloth substrate. The electrochemical properties of the materials were studied using cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The TiO2/rGO-NS composite coated carbon cloth cathode showed a maximum specific capacitance (599.9 Fg(-1)) and energy density (83.31 Whkg(-1)) at a current density of 1 Ag-1.

Self-assembled Zn-Co MOF nanospheres/rGO as cathode material for an asymmetric supercapacitor with high energy density

Honglu Wu et al.

Summary: Bimetal-constructed metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are developed for enhanced structural stability and synergistic effects in energy storage and conversion. By assembling Zinc and Cobalt nodes with ligands in the MOF configuration, Zn-Co nanosphere/rGO exhibits significant supercapacitor electrode performance, with a capacitance of 2925 F g-1 at 0.5 A g-1 and a high-rate capability of 45.4% at 50 A g-1. Utilizing Zn-Co NS/rGO, an asymmetric supercapacitor is fabricated with outstanding properties, including a large operating potential window, high energy density, and excellent capacitance retention after 10,000 charge-discharge cycles.
