Transcriptional regulatory network of plant cold-stress responses

Satoshi Kidokoro et al.

Summary: Recent studies have revealed the complexity and flexibility of the transcriptional regulatory network involved in cold-stress responses, highlighting the close association with other signaling pathways. How plants sense and transmit cold-stress signals to regulate gene expression remains unknown.

Genome-Wide Identification of Petunia HSF Genes and Potential Function of PhHSF19 in Benzenoid/Phenylpropanoid Biosynthesis

Jianxin Fu et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the potential function of heat shock factors (HSFs) in the regulation of floral scent in petunia. The results showed that petunia contains 34 HSF gene family members, with 23 belonging to the HSFA subfamily. It was found that the expression pattern of PhHSF19 is positively related with PhPAL2, and the yeast one hybrid and dual luciferase assays confirmed that PhHSF19 positively regulates the expression of PhPAL2. These results lay a theoretical foundation for further studies of the regulation of HSFs on plant flower scent biosynthesis.

Cellular Protein Trafficking: A New Player in Low-Temperature Response Pathway

M. Arif Ashraf et al.

Summary: This review focuses on understanding the effects of temperature on plants, particularly low-temperature stress on crop productivity. While progress has been made in understanding the low-temperature response mechanisms in plants, research has mainly focused on above-ground parts rather than roots or the whole plant. The review examines the current understanding of plant growth response mechanisms mediated by low temperatures and discusses recent advancements in cell biology studies that may lead to the discovery of alternative regulators for cold stress response pathways.
