Sense of Place and Sound: Revisiting from Multidisciplinary Outlook

Summary: This study focuses on the relationship between the sense of place and sound in literature and explores the recommended approaches by influential urban theorists, landscape architects, and planners. By identifying sounds in three key categories - auditory experience, sound, and silence, this research proposes a conceptual framework to address the gap between sound and urban studies. The study reveals decisive patterns in the interface between the sense of place and sound context in urban studies.

Constructing a Design Space from a Collection of Design Examples

Summary: The study proposes a method for handling and collecting design cases, and constructing and analyzing design spaces. By deconstructing cases into aspects and options, they represented them within a design space schema to position them within the design space. Through analyzing media architecture installations, the effectiveness of this method is demonstrated.
