Doping control of magnetism and emergent electromagnetic induction in high-temperature helimagnets

Aki Kitaori et al.

Summary: AC current-driven motions of spiral spin textures can create new electric fields and induce emergent electromagnetic induction effect, potentially realizing quantum inductor elements of micrometer size. Research on YMn6Sn6 helimagnet reveals the optimized conditions for emergent inductors beyond room temperature, achieved by modifying the magnetism through partial substitution of Y by Tb. The study demonstrates the control of both magnitude and sign of emergent electromagnetic inductance, and expands the range of potential candidate materials for emergent inductors.

Zoology of Multiple-Q Spin Textures in a Centrosymmetric Tetragonal Magnet with Itinerant Electrons

Nguyen Duy Khanh et al.

Summary: This study extensively investigated the magnetic structures in the centrosymmetric tetragonal magnet GdRu2Si2, identifying a rich variety of double-Q magnetic structures and successfully reproducing the observed complex magnetic phase diagram using a theoretical framework. These results are important for understanding the skyrmion formation mechanism in centrosymmetric rare-earth compounds and suggest that itinerant electrons can host various unique multiple-Q spin orders in a simple crystal lattice system.

Phase competition in frustrated anisotropic antiferromagnet in strong magnetic field

O. Utesov et al.

Summary: In this study, a frustrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet in magnetic field close to saturation is discussed, demonstrating that small biaxial anisotropy and/or magnetic dipolar interaction can create a delicate balance between phases with different spin orderings. This results in various sequences of phase transitions depending on the values of these small anisotropic interactions, with analytical expressions for critical fields and ground-state energies matching Monte-Carlo simulations.

Triple helix versus skyrmion lattice in two-dimensional noncentrosymmetric magnets

V. E. Timofeev et al.

Summary: Two methods for describing the structure of skyrmions were compared, showing nearly identical results at intermediate magnetic fields but the stereographic projection method being preferable at higher magnetic fields, especially for describing disordered skyrmion liquid phases. Intensities of secondary Bragg peaks can provide additional information about individual skyrmions, with estimates showing them to be several percent of the main Bragg peak at high magnetic fields.

Thermodynamically stable skyrmion lattice in a tetragonal frustrated antiferromagnet with dipolar interaction

Oleg Utesov

Summary: Motivated by recent experimental results on GdRu2Si2, this study proposes a mean-field description for the high-temperature phase diagram of centrosymmetric tetragonal frustrated antiferromagnets with dipolar interaction. It reveals the mechanism for the formation of a square skyrmion lattice in such systems.

Square skyrmion crystal in centrosymmetric itinerant magnets

Satoru Hayami et al.

Summary: The research investigates the square-type skyrmion crystal in centrosymmetric itinerant magnets, finding that it is stabilized by interactions between positive biquadratic, bond-dependent anisotropic, and easy-axis anisotropic interactions. This is different from triangular skyrmion crystals, which are stabilized by only one of the three interactions, indicating that the square skyrmion crystal is characteristic of itinerant magnets with magnetic anisotropy. The study also reveals a variety of noncollinear and noncoplanar spin textures depending on model parameters and applied magnetic fields.
