Highly selective hydrogenation of CO2 to propane over GaZrOx/H-SSZ-13 composite

Sen Wang et al.

Summary: This study developed a composite material capable of selectively hydrogenating CO2 to produce high-value hydrocarbons, with high product selectivity and stability. Incorporation of proper amounts of Ga into ZrO2 promoted methanol formation, avoiding the limitation of aromatics generation under high H-2 pressure.

Active Sites on ZnXZr1-XO2-X Solid Solution Catalysts for CO2-to-Methanol Hydrogenation

Shohei Tada et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Zn content on the CO2-to-methanol hydrogenation over ZnxZr1-xO2-x catalysts and determined the active-site structure through calculations and experiments. The results showed that Zn species in the catalysts were unevenly distributed and formed clusters and nanoparticles near the surface. The Zn-O-Zr sites derived from the clusters exhibited specific activity for CO2 conversion.

Search for solid acid catalysts aiming at the development of bifunctional tandem catalysts for the one-pass synthesis of lower olefins via CO2 hydrogenation

Shohei Tada et al.

Summary: The development of methodologies for CO2 utilization is in high demand globally. Tandem catalysts of ZnZrOx and solid acid catalysts were proposed for one-pass synthesis of lower olefins. The pore sizes and channel dimensionality of zeolites influenced the selectivity of products, with zeolites with small pores showing potential for producing light olefins.

Multifunctional Catalyst Combination for the Direct Conversion of CO2 to Propane

Adrian Ramirez et al.

Summary: A highly active and selective PdZn/ZrO2+SAPO-34 multifunctional catalyst has been developed for the direct conversion of CO2 to propane, with total selectivity to propane higher than 50% and CO2 conversion close to 40%. The presence of Pd in the catalyst drives paraffin production via hydrogenation, with more than 99.9% of the products being saturated hydrocarbons, offering significant advantages for product purification.
