Global warming has health consequences that are particularly worrying for children, especially during their early growth stages. The loss of biodiversity may be one of the reasons for the increased frequency of allergic diseases. It is important for us to propose solutions to adapt to the changing environment and reverse this trend through reasoned practices.
Global warming, long denied by some, is here and its health consequences are worrying for children. It is itself linked to the increase in greenhouse gases, the impact of which on living beings is already measurable. The child, whose body is fully maturing, is particularly sensitive, particularly during the first two years of growth, which are essential to his immune status. It is at this period of life that he is most vulnerable to living conditions capable of changing his immunological profile in favor of an allergic status. Among the many theories explaining the increase in the frequency of allergic diseases, the loss of biodiversity could, by modifying our microbiome, be one of the explanations for this observation. It is up to us to propose solutions to adapt to this new world and try to reverse the trend through reasoned practices. (c) 2023 Societe franc, aise d'allergologie. Published by Elsevier Masson SAS.
