Application Value of PET/CT and MRI in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Patients With Synchronous Multiple Pulmonary Ground-Glass Nodules

Shaonan Xie et al.

Summary: This study investigated the necessity of PET/CT and contrast-enhanced brain MRI for patients with synchronous multiple ground-glass nodules (SMGGNs). The results showed that these imaging examinations are unnecessary for SMGGN patients, but preoperative MRI+DWI examination is recommended for perioperative patient safety.

Differential Diagnosis of Nonabsorbable Inflammatory and Malignant Subsolid Nodules with a Solid Component ≤5 mm

Xiao-Qun He et al.

Summary: By comparing the clinical and imaging data of 576 patients, significant differences in 11 characteristics were found between nonabsorbable inflammatory and malignant SSNs, with several factors identified as the most effective for diagnosis. These findings were validated in an internal cohort of 146 patients.

Differential diagnosis of benign and malignant patchy ground-glass opacity by thin-section computed tomography

Zhang-Rui Liang et al.

Summary: Malignant patchy ground-glass opacities are more commonly found in older patients, those with no history of malignant tumors, and in females. Significant differences were observed in the location, distribution, and other CT features between malignant and benign patchy ground-glass opacities.

Significance of intra-nodular vessel sign in differentiating benign and malignant pulmonary ground-glass nodules

Bin-jie Fu et al.

Summary: The study revealed significant differences in size, shape, and internal vascular content between malignant and benign GGNs, with internal vascular presence mainly related to nodule size and distance from the pleura. GGNs with dilated or distorted internal vessels, especially pulmonary veins, have a higher likelihood of malignancy.

Pulmonary Benign Ground-Glass Nodules: CT Features and Pathological Findings

Wang-Jia Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the CT features and pathological findings of pulmonary benign ground-glass nodules (GGNs), and found that different types of nodules have distinct CT characteristics, which can help improve diagnostic accuracy. Follow-up should be considered for subsolid nodules with CT features manifested in type I or II GGNs for further management.

Arc concave sign on thin-section computed tomography:A novel predictor for invasive pulmonary adenocarcinoma in pure ground-glass nodules

Gangze Fu et al.

Summary: The study identified the arc concave sign as a reliable predictor of invasiveness in pGGNs, with a stronger association between deep arc concave sign and invasive lesions. Therefore, the presence of arc concave sign on TSCT can effectively distinguish invasive lesions from preinvasive lesions.

Comparison of Clinical and Pathological Characteristics Between Extremely Multiple GGNs and Single GGNs

Xin Wang et al.

Summary: This study compared the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients with extremely multiple GGNs to those with single GGNs undergoing surgery. It was found that while primary nodules in extremely multiple GGNs may have a higher malignancy rate than those in the single nodule group, the proportion of malignant nodules decreased significantly with an increasing number of lesions, and patients with extremely multiple GGNs had a satisfactory prognosis.

Etiological profile and main imaging findings in patients with granulomatous diseases who underwent lung biopsy

Camila Vilela de Oliveira et al.

Summary: The main etiologies found in patients with granulomatous lung diseases who underwent lung biopsy were fungal or mycobacterial infections, especially histoplasmosis and tuberculosis. The most common imaging finding was a nodular pattern with focal distribution, which showed substantial interreader agreement compared to other causes of granulomatous lung diseases.
