On the Comparability of Basic Personality Models: Meta-Analytic Correspondence, Scope, and Orthogonality of the Big Five and HEXACO Dimensions

Isabel Thielmann et al.

Summary: This study provides the first comprehensive meta-analysis on the correspondence between the FFM/Big Five and HEXACO dimensions, revealing notable conceptual differences and a broader coverage of the personality space in the HEXACO model. Moderator analyses also show substantial differences between operationalizations of the FFM/Big Five.

Measuring honesty-humility with an implicit association test (IAT): Construct and criterion validity

Yolandi-Eloise Janse Van Rensburg et al.

Summary: The goal of this research was to develop and validate an implicit association test for honesty-humility (IAT-HH). The results showed that the IAT-HH captured important substantive variance and had measurement overlap with self-reports. However, it was unable to predict academic behavior based on self-report or behavioral criteria, indicating that predicting behavior with the IAT-HH is complex.

HEXACO Personality and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A Domain- and Facet-Level Meta-Analysis

Jan Luca Pletzer et al.

Summary: Several meta-analyses have shown that personality plays a significant role in predicting organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study specifically focuses on the HEXACO personality domains and their relationships with OCB, finding that traits like Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, Honesty-Humility, and Openness to Experience have the strongest correlations with OCB, while Emotionality does not. Additionally, the study explores the discrepancy in explained variance when using different levels of HEXACO facets, identifying masking and cancellation effects among certain facets.
