Mechanically and biologically promoted cell-laden constructs generated using tissue-specific bioinks for tendon/ligament tissue engineering applications

Suhun Chae et al.

Summary: This study presents a cell-based tissue engineering strategy using 3D cell-printing technology to generate cell-laden tissue constructs for tendon and ligament regeneration. The implementation of an in vitro preconditioning approach promotes tissue formation and improves cell survival and retention upon in vivo implantation. These findings have important implications for future cell-based therapies in tendon and ligament regeneration.

Small Leucine-Rich Proteoglycans in Tendon Wound Healing

Xue Xu et al.

Summary: Small leucine-rich proteoglycans (SLRPs) play a crucial role in regulating tendon structure and biomechanics, offering a promising method for tendon injury management. However, current knowledge on the role of SLRPs in tendon development and regeneration is limited, requiring further investigations.

Constructing a highly bioactive tendon-regenerative scaffold by surface modification of tissue-specific stem cell-derived extracellular matrix

Liang-Ju Ning et al.

Summary: This study presents a strategy to improve the bioactivity of decellularized tendon slices (DTSs) by surface modification of tendon-specific stem cell-derived extracellular matrix (tECM). The modified tECM-DTSs showed enhanced surface topographical cues, retained stiffness, and increased content of multiple ECM components. They demonstrated improved migration, proliferation, and tenogenic differentiation of bone marrow-derived stem cells compared to DTSs.

Comprehensive analysis to identify DLEU2L/TAOK1 axis as a prognostic biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma

Yi Shi et al.

Summary: This study identified a ceRNA-based DLEU2L/TAOK1 axis as a novel important prognostic factor associated with the diagnosis and prognosis of HCC. The bioinformatics analysis revealed its close correlation with the prognosis of HCC. Furthermore, further analysis suggested that this axis may impact the tumor immune microenvironment and the development of HCC by regulating methylation and immune infiltration.

Enhancement of Migration and Tenogenic Differentiation of Macaca Mulatta Tendon-Derived Stem Cells by Decellularized Tendon Hydrogel

Liang-Ju Ning et al.

Summary: A new decellularized tendon hydrogel from Macaca mulatta was developed in this study, which was found to promote proliferation, migration, and tenogenic differentiation of tendon-derived stem cells. The retained nanofibrous structure and bioactive factors make this hydrogel a promising candidate for tendon regeneration.

Textile-based sandwich scaffold using wet electrospun yarns for skin tissue engineering

Chen Jiang et al.

Summary: The study introduces a textile-based sandwich scaffold that mimics the strain-stiffening behavior of human tissues. By adjusting process parameters, the scaffold's properties can be tuned within ranges similar to human skin. Through optimization, the scaffold also supports cell proliferation and infiltration.
