First collection of Torrenticolidae (Hydrachnidiae, Acari) from Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve, China, with descriptions of two new species

Summary: This study presents the occurrence of Torrenticolid mites in Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve, China. Two new species, Torrenticola multiserrater Gu & Guo sp. nov. and T. pseudoalargada Gu & Guo sp. nov., are described and illustrated. Additionally, T. siamis Pesic & Smit, 2009 and T. nipponica (Enami, 1940) are reported as new records for Chongqing's fauna. This is also the first report of Torrenticolidae from Chongqing, China.

A case of integrative taxonomy based on traditional morphology, molecular systematics and geometric morphometrics in the taxonomy of Torrenticolidae (Acari, Hydrachnidiae)

Summary: An integrative taxonomy method combining traditional morphological analysis, molecular systematics, and geometric morphometrics was used to identify two morphologically similar species of torrenticolid mites. A new species, T. nipponicella Gu & Guo sp. nov., from China, was described in detail, including its morphological features, molecular data, geometric morphometric data, and taxonomic status. Canonical variate analysis and principal component analysis revealed important taxonomical characters in the dorsal and ventral shields of these species.

Torrenticolid water mites of Bhutan. Genera Torrenticola Piersig, 1896 and Neoatractides Lundblad, 1941 (Acari: Hydrachnidia: Torrenticolidae)

Summary: This study reports 17 species of Torrenticolid mites collected in Bhutan, including species from the genera Torrenticola and Neoatractides. Detailed descriptions are provided for each species to facilitate their identification in future systematic surveys in the Himalayan region. Additionally, seven new species of the genus Torrenticola and one new species of the genus Neoatractides are described in this paper.
