Sucrose assisted chemical-free synthesis of rGO for triboelectric nanogenerator: Green energy source for smart-water dispenser

Summary: Nowadays, an economical and novel nanocomposite-based triboelectric nanogenerator (NC-TENG) is designed using reduced graphene oxide (rGO) synthesized in a simple one-step method in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix. The NC-TENG with different rGO filler quantities is characterized for its structural, surface, and electrical properties. The device demonstrates sensitivity to humidity and shows applications in charging capacitors, powering LEDs and a digital watch, as well as transmitting English alphabet and numerals in Morse code. Moreover, it is integrated with an Arduino controller board as a smart-water dispenser. This work provides a comprehensive pathway for the fabrication of NC-TENG utilizing green-synthesized rGO nano-fillers in PVC matrix as a flexible, self-powered multipurpose smart sensor.

Summary: This study presents a simple and cost-effective method to synthesize a dual-surface modified Ecoflex polymer for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs). The impact of pores and micro pyramidal projections on triboelectric performance is investigated using an Ecoflex-Aluminum-based contact separation TENG. The results show the potential of surface-modified porous materials for gapless TENGs, with the ability to generate electricity and power devices without the need for batteries.

A Robust and Wearable Triboelectric Tactile Patch as Intelligent Human-Machine Interface
