Additionally, it highlights the tolerance shown by France and Switzerland towards the attacks of ASALA and JCAG.

Crafting a 'liberal monarchy': regime consolidation and immigration policy reform in Morocco

Summary: This research demonstrates that Moroccan immigration policy making is closely tied to the monarchy's authoritarian consolidation agenda. The liberalization of immigration policy not only emerged from autocratic political structures but also strengthened them. The Moroccan monarchy used the 2013 'liberal' immigration reform to achieve multiple goals, while the regime consolidation strategy and portrayal of the King as a 'liberal' monarch did not eliminate entrenched dynamics between state and civil society actors.
