This perspective paper revisits the current status of SA and outlines research challenges in various areas, emphasizing the need for structuring and standardizing SA as a discipline, tapping into its potential for systems modeling, addressing computational burdens, progressing SA in the context of machine learning, clarifying its relationship with uncertainty quantification, and evolving its use in decision making. An outlook for the future of SA is provided to better serve science and society.

Evaluation and analysis of metal mine filling based on numerical simulation and actual measurement

Summary: By combining numerical simulation and on-site measurements, this study found that the amount of surface subsidence and horizontal displacement under unfilled conditions is greater than that under filled conditions, with different plastic failure ranges. Numerical simulation can accurately predict the amount of ground subsidence and horizontal displacement, as well as the force on the goaf.

Analysis of the Control Effect and Parameter Optimisation of Urban Surface Deformation in Underground Coal Mining with Solid Backfilling

Summary: This study utilized the solid backfilling method to extract coal resources beneath buildings in Tangshan, and analyzed the surface deformation effects of solid backfilling on buildings. The research found that the compression ratio is the main factor affecting surface deformation, and should be maintained above 80% during solid backfilling operations. The results provide a technical reference for urban mining with solid backfilling.
