Ethical Leadership, Bricolage, and Eco-Innovation in the Chinese Manufacturing Industry: A Multi-Theory Perspective

Summary: This study examines the integrated correlations of ethical leadership, environmental innovation, sustainable performance, and entrepreneurial bricolage using upper echelons and effectuation theories. Analyzing data from 223 manufacturing firms in northeastern China, the study finds significant positive impacts of ethical leadership on environmental innovation and of the latter on sustainable performance. The results also support the indirect effect of ethical leadership on sustainable performance through environmental innovation, highlighting an amplified impact of ethical leadership on environmental innovation and increasing bricolage values.

Entrepreneur-Region Fit and Entrepreneurial Success in China: The Effect of Confucian Personality

Summary: The study found that the annual income of entrepreneurs is curvilinearly correlated with the interpersonal relatedness (IR) of the city, with moderate IR being associated with the highest income. Additionally, there is a significant interaction between entrepreneurs and cities, with entrepreneurs who have moderate IR and operate in a city with moderate IR most likely to earn the highest income. This highlights the importance of investigating indigenous personality and fit perspective in entrepreneurship research.

The findings revealed that the Junzi personality consists of five factors, including wisdom, benevolence, courage, respectfulness, propriety, conversancy with righteousness, cherishment of benign rule, and self-cultivation rather than contentions with others.
