Coherence of a charge stabilised tin-vacancy spin in diamond

Johannes Goerlitz et al.

Summary: This study reveals a charge cycle that can be applied to various group IV-vacancy centers and exploits it to achieve efficient and rapid initialization of the desired negative charge state. It also demonstrates a spin state readout method without the need for aligning a magnetic field.

Efficient Source of Shaped Single Photons Based on an Integrated Diamond Nanophotonic System

E. N. Knall et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates an efficient and high-purity source of single-photon pulses with arbitrary temporal shapes, and successfully detects streams of up to 11 consecutive single photons. This provides an important resource for generating correlated photon streams and transmitting and processing quantum information effectively.

A polarization encoded photon-to-spin interface

K. C. Chen et al.

Summary: The proposed integrated photonics device efficiently maps qubits encoded in photon polarization onto the spin state of a solid-state defect. The device's fidelity depends on factors such as polarization extinction ratio and atom-cavity cooperativity, and a trade-off between rate and fidelity is explored through analytical and numerical models. Simulation results demonstrate high fidelity photon-to-spin mapping with the designed device.

A bright and fast source of coherent single photons

Natasha Tomm et al.

Summary: A single-photon source is crucial in quantum communication, quantum simulation, and linear optics-based quantum computing, with stringent requirements on efficiency and coherence. By utilizing gated quantum dots in a tunable microcavity, a high-end-to-end efficiency single-photon source can be achieved, enabling on-demand single-photon creation with high probability and coherence in trains of thousands of photons.

Coupling of a single tin-vacancy center to a photonic crystal cavity in diamond

Kazuhiro Kuruma et al.

Summary: In this study, optical coupling between a single tin-vacancy (SnV) center in diamond and a free-standing photonic crystal nanobeam cavity was demonstrated. By controlling the emission of a single SnV center and observing its intensity enhancement and lifetime reduction under resonance conditions, the Purcell factor and coupling efficiency were estimated to be 37 and 95% respectively, paving the way for quantum photonic devices and systems.

Quantum Photonic Interface for Tin-Vacancy Centers in Diamond

Alison E. Rugar et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates cavity enhancement of the emission of tin-vacancy (SnV-) centers in diamond, resulting in a 40-fold increase in emission intensity. Integration of SnV- centers into one-dimensional photonic crystal resonators leads to a Purcell factor of 25, channeling the majority of photons (90%) into the cavity mode. These results pave the way for the development of efficient, scalable spin-photon interfaces based on SnV- centers in diamond.

A phononic interface between a superconducting quantum processor and quantum networked spin memories

Tomas Neuman et al.

Summary: A high-fidelity quantum state transduction method is introduced using an acoustic bus connected by piezoelectric transducers between a superconducting microwave qubit and the ground state spin system of a solid-state artificial atom. The estimated fidelity for quantum state transduction exceeds 99% at a MHz-scale bandwidth, making it suitable for present-day experimental parameters.

Impact of surface and laser-induced noise on the spectral stability of implanted nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond

Srivatsa Chakravarthi et al.

Summary: Successful creation of single NV centers was achieved using N-15 ion implantation and high-temperature vacuum annealing, with optical linewidth close to the lifetime limit. The results suggest that the interaction between NV centers and the surface has a significant impact on optical coherence, rather than the implantation damage.
