Sexual Harassment in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Qualitative Systematic Review

Summary: This qualitative systematic review examined the conceptualizations, causal factors, consequences, coping strategies, and prevention and intervention recommendations of sexual harassment in different countries and settings. The findings showed that sexual harassment was significant in participants' lives, but their understanding of sexual harassment varied greatly and was influenced by contextual and sociocultural factors. The review highlighted the conflation of sexual harassment and sexual violence, the intersections of gendered power with other hierarchies, the role of patriarchal norms and gender inequalities in enabling sexual harassment, the varied expectations of how women should cope with sexual harassment, and the need for gender norms change and effective policies to address the issue.

Bullying in Cardiology: Pakistan?s Perspective

Summary: This survey aimed to investigate the prevalence of bullying among junior physicians in cardiology departments in Pakistan. The results showed that 10.2% of males and 13.4% of females reported experiencing bullying. Women were more likely to report sexist language, while men reported more racist language. Consultants in cardiology were the main perpetrators of bullying. Bullying in cardiology is a common problem that affects both males and females, religious minorities, and trainees working in tertiary care hospitals.

Gender Disparity in Work Distribution Among Cardiology Trainees: Pakistan's Perspective

Summary: Gender disparity in work distribution among cardiology trainees in Pakistan was examined. Male trainees were assigned more complex procedures, while female trainees were assigned more administrative tasks. Female trainees experienced higher rates of perceived bias and discrimination, and perceived unequal opportunities for career advancement.

Adapting and Validating the Sexual Experiences Questionnaire to Study Sexual Harassment Among University Women in Jordan

Summary: Despite the challenges, the study successfully adapted and validated the Sexual Experiences Questionnaire (SEQ) for measuring sexual harassment victimization among college-going women in Jordan. The sequential exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that the SEQ is a reliable measurement tool in this context. Further validation and dimension capturing efforts are needed in the Arab region.

Workplace gender harassment, illegitimate tasks, and poor mental health: Hypothesized associations in a Swedish cohort

Exploring men's use of mental health support offered by an Australian Employee Assistance Program (EAP): perspectives from a focus-group study with males working in blue- and white-collar industries

Summary: Despite widespread public health initiatives to improve men's mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior in Australia, men continue to be overrepresented in suicide statistics. Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) offer free and confidential mental health support, but are underutilized by men. Differences in barriers to and facilitators of EAP use were found between white-collar and blue-collar workers, highlighting the need for tailored approaches to increase men's access to EAP services.

Sexual Harassment Among Medical Students: Prevalence, Prediction, and Correlated Outcomes

Summary: This study showed that 36.6% of medical students reported experiencing sexual harassment by faculty/staff, and 38.5% reported harassment by fellow students. Women and multiracial students were significantly more likely to experience harassment. Those who experienced sexual harassment were also more likely to report academic disengagement and symptoms of depression and PTSD.
