Zheming Tong et al.

Summary: In this study, a smart SLIPS marine antifouling coating is prepared with responsively switching lubrication modes and self-healing property. The surface lubricity of SLIPS is regulated by introducing a responsive supramolecular interaction. The self-replenishment of lubricant adjusts the surface lubricity to switch antifouling modes between enhancive and normal.

Hierarchical Surface Patterns via Global Wrinkling on Curved Substrate for Fluid Drag Control

Gaojian Lin et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global wrinkling of stiff coatings on curved compliant substrates, revealing that when the coating thickness exceeds a critical value, global wrinkling can occur. The study demonstrates that hierarchical wrinkling patterns with different scales can be formed through the global wrinkling processes. Through theoretical models, experimental studies, and numerical simulations, the formation mechanism and controlling parameters of the hierarchical wrinkling patterns are systematically investigated.
