Distributed Leadership Promotes Teacher Self-Efficacy in Multicultural Classrooms Through School Capacity Building: A Multilevel SEM Approach Using US Teaching and Learning International Survey

Soobin Choi

Summary: This study examines the effects of distributed leadership on teacher self-efficacy in multicultural classrooms through school capacity building, including teacher team innovativeness and a feedback network. The findings show that distributed leadership has an indirect effect on teacher self-efficacy through a feedback network but not through teacher team innovativeness. Additionally, distributed leadership is positively associated with both a feedback network and teacher team innovativeness. These results highlight the importance of distributed leadership in equipping teachers for culturally responsive teaching in multicultural classrooms.

Summary: Ethnic prejudice can lead to exclusion and hinder social integration. Adolescents adjust their attitudes to fit in with their classmates, who serve as more important reference groups than teachers. More contact with Roma is associated with less prejudice against them. School classes play a crucial role in the socialization of intergroup attitudes, and students tend to adjust their attitudes to the perceived class norm over time.
