Summary: Since the first wave of COVID-19, the number of people with post-COVID syndrome has rapidly increased globally. Questions remain as to whether there is a hidden cohort of sufferers not accessing mainstream clinics. This group is likely to be marginalized and has difficulties accessing formal clinics. The challenge lies in organizing and facilitating different forms of support, and peer support is explored as a potential option for these hidden or hardly reached populations. The study evaluates the global potential of peer support for people living with long COVID, highlighting three perspectives - biomedical, relational, and socio-political - and three models for delivering peer support: service-led, community-based, and social media.

Summary: This study aimed to describe the episodic nature of disability among adults living with Long COVID. Using online semi-structured interviews and participant visual illustrations, a qualitative descriptive study was conducted. Participants were recruited through collaborator community organizations in Canada, Ireland, UK, and USA. The findings showed that disability experiences among adults living with Long COVID are characterized by fluctuations in health challenges, which may be unpredictable in nature. The results can inform healthcare and rehabilitation for individuals with Long COVID.

Summary: The number of patients experiencing post-COVID-19 syndrome is increasing significantly, having serious impacts on healthcare, society, and the economy. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of telerehabilitation in alleviating the symptoms of post-COVID-19 syndrome. A systematic review of literature was conducted, including six articles detailing symptomatology, assessment, treatment, and monitoring of 140 patients. Telerehabilitation interventions showed positive effects on physical performance and quality of life, with techniques such as aerobic exercises, respiratory control, patient education, and virtual reality games being notable.

Summary: This study evaluated the severity of fatigue and postexertional malaise in people living with long COVID. The findings suggest that long COVID is characterized by clinically relevant chronic fatigue and significant challenges related to postexertional symptom exacerbation. It is important to monitor and report these symptoms in clinical practice and interventions for people with long COVID.

Summary: This qualitative systematic review explores the experiences of people living with long COVID and their perceptions of healthcare services available to them. The findings suggest that long COVID is a heterogeneous condition with a variety of physical and emotional consequences. It is recommended that greater knowledge and understanding of long COVID is needed by various stakeholders, and that the design of emerging long COVID services should take into account the experiences of patients.

Summary: Limited clinical effectiveness studies have been conducted on post-COVID PR, but existing research suggests that PR can improve exercise capacity, pulmonary function, and quality of life for individuals hospitalized with acute COVID-19 infection. It may also alleviate symptoms such as dyspnea, fatigue, anxiety, and depression. However, there is a lack of research on non-hospitalized patients or long-term outcomes beyond 3 months after initiating PR.

Summary: This study systematically maps the current evidence on the characteristics of health systems, providers, and patients to design rehabilitation care for post COVID-19 condition. The evidence is mostly conceptual and expert based, with key findings including the importance of multidisciplinary teams, continuity or coordination of care, people-centred care, and shared decision-making between clinicians and patients. Rehabilitation services should be integrated into all levels of the health system, and healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists play a crucial role in delivering these services.
