It's extremely hard but it's not a burden: A qualitative study of family caregiving for people living with dementia in Vietnam

Summary: This study examined the family caregiving experience in a semi-rural region outside of central Hanoi. It found that caregivers often perceive dementia symptoms as a normal part of aging and view caregiving as a moral and expected familial obligation, influenced by gender and sibling order. The study also highlighted the challenges faced by caregivers in terms of time constraints, loss of income, social isolation, impact on physical health, and emotional distress.
