Unveiling the SO2 Resistance Mechanism of a Nanostructured SiO2(x)@Mn Catalyst for Low-Temperature NH3-SCR of NO

Hongli Wu et al.

Summary: A novel SiO2@Mn catalyst with a core-shell structure was synthesized using manganese carbonate tailings, which effectively limited SO(2) adsorption and enhanced the catalyst's resistance to SO2. The catalyst exhibited improved N-2 selectivity and increased NH3 adsorption capacity due to the interaction between Mn and Si. Additionally, the formation mechanisms of N2O and the anti-SO2 poisoning mechanism were proposed, and DFT calculations showed that SO(2) preferentially adsorbed onto the SiO2 surface, preventing erosion of active sites.

Enhancing SO2-shielding effect and Lewis acid sites for high efficiency in low-temperature SCR of NO with NH3: Reinforced electron-deficient extent of Fe3+enabled by Ti4+in Fe2O3

Yixuan Fan et al.

Summary: Ti-doped Fe2O3 nanoparticles show high activity and resistance to SO2, allowing for efficient reduction of NO at low temperatures. The addition of Ti4+ strengthens the electron-deficient tendency of Fe3+, enabling the catalyst to selectively adsorb NH3 and resist SO2. In addition, the embedded Ti4+ also increases the number of Lewis acid sites, enhancing the reaction rate of SCR.

Elaborating the improving SO2 resistance mechanism of CeWTi catalysts through framework confined ordered mesoporous structures for low-temperature NH3-SCR reaction

Mengqian Li et al.

Summary: In this study, an ordered mesoporous Ce-W-Ti-E catalyst with a framework confined structure was constructed for enhancing the SO2 tolerance in the NH3-SCR reaction at low temperature. The framework confined ordered mesoporous structure provided a larger specific surface area and abundant active sites for the catalyst. The introduction of W element increased surface acid sites and inhibited the adsorption of SO2 on the catalyst surface, thus protecting the active sites from SO2 attack. Overall, the Ce-W-Ti-E catalyst showed a wide operating temperature range, better stability, and strong sulfur resistance, leading to an extended catalyst lifetime in the NH3-SCR process.

Design, Synthesis, and Insights into the Redox Mechanism of Highly Efficient One-Pot Cu-ZSM-5 Catalysts for the Reduction of NO x by NH3-SCR at Low Temperatures

Chengming Zhong et al.

Summary: Cu-ZSM-5 zeolites have promising NH3-SCR activity over a wide range of temperatures. The challenges in preparing Cu-ZSM-5 include reducing cost and simplifying the preparation process. The one-pot method using the Cu-amine complex as a template is a successful strategy, but there is still a lack of methods for preparing Cu-ZSM-5. In this study, a one-pot method using the Cu-(EDA)(2) complex as a template is developed to prepare the Cu-ZSM-5-O catalyst.

Calcined Attapulgite Clay as Supplementary Cementing Material: Thermal Treatment, Hydration Activity and Mechanical Properties

Tao Shi et al.

Summary: The present study investigates the effects of different calcination temperatures on the appearance, mineral composition, and active SiO2 content in attapulgite. It also examines the influence of calcined attapulgite on the chemically bonded water content, hydration degree of cement paste, and mechanical properties of cement mortar. The results suggest that a calcination temperature of 500 degrees C yields the best enhancement in cement-based materials' hydration activity. This study highlights the potential of using calcined attapulgite clay to reduce energy consumption in the cement industry and promote the sustainable development of attapulgite clay.
