Multiple Hydrogen-Bond Modification of [1,2,5]Oxadiazolo[3,4-b]pyridine 1-Oxide Framework Enables Access to Low-Sensitivity High-Energy Materials

Summary: A fused-ring [1,2,5]oxadiazolo[3,4-b]pyridine 1-oxide framework was utilized to develop novel energetic materials with multiple hydrogen bonds. The prepared materials exhibited high densities and detonation performances, low sensitivities, and good thermal stability. Compounds 3 and 4 were identified as potential low-sensitivity high-energy materials.

Co-operation between multidentate ligand and inorganic salts: preparation of solvent-free primary explosives based on 4-amino-1,2,5-oxadiazole-3-carbohydrazide

Summary: By utilizing the furazan skeleton and hydrazide group as targets, a ligand with multiple coordination sites was designed and synthesized. Different crystallization methods were used to prepare four kinds of ECPs with different structures, and their properties were evaluated. The results showed the best performance in terms of physical-chemical properties and detonation performance for specific ECPs.

Coordination polymerization of nitrogen-rich linkers and dicyanamide anions toward energetic coordination polymers with low sensitivities

Summary: This study successfully synthesized energetic coordination polymers with high energy and reliable stabilities using a strategy of coordination polymerization. The synthesized ECPs showed excellent performance in terms of thermal stability and detonation heat, and exhibited low mechanical sensitivity to external mechanical action. Compound 2 also demonstrated hypergolic properties, indicating potential applications in the field of propellants.

In this study, a nitrogen-rich heterocycle was synthesized and its energetic salts were prepared. The compounds were fully characterized and the vulnerability of N atoms to attack by H protons was analyzed. Thermal stability and detonation performance were evaluated with promising results. These compounds show potential applications as energetic materials.

Copper Azide-based Complexes without Repulsive Steric Clashes between Azides for Advanced Primary Explosives

A new copper azide complex with exceptional initiating capability and high safety has been developed, which can successfully ignite a commercial secondary explosive with only 5 mg, making it possibly the most efficient primary explosive known to date. This work provides new insights for designing high-performance primary explosives for advanced explosive systems.
