Kinetic SIR equations and particle limits

Alessandro Ciallella et al.

Summary: The study presents and analyzes two simple N-particle systems for the spread of infection, with binary and multi-body interactions, respectively. Convergence results are established as N -> infinity, leading to a set of kinetic equations which mathematically justify related numerical schemes. The time asymptotics of these equations are rigorously analyzed, and the models are compared numerically.
