Atlas of MRI findings of sacroiliitis in pediatric sacroiliac joints to accompany the updated preliminary OMERACT pediatric JAMRIS (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis MRI Score) scoring system: Part II: Structural damage lesions

N. Herregods et al.

Summary: MRI is the preferred imaging modality for diagnosing sacroiliitis in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, detecting both active lesions and structural damage. Systematic MRI assessment aids in monitoring disease progression. This atlas serves as a reference for assessing structural lesions of SIJ arthritis.

Atlas of MRI findings of sacroiliitis in pediatric sacroiliac joints to accompany the updated preliminary OMERACT pediatric JAMRIS (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis MRI Score) scoring system: Part I: Active lesions

N. Herregods et al.

Summary: MRI is an important tool for identifying involvement of the sacroiliac joints in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, helping in monitoring inflammation and structural damage, and evaluating treatment response.

Improving domain definition and outcome instrument selection: Lessons learned for OMERACT from imaging

Maria Antonietta D'Agostino et al.

Summary: This study aims to define and describe the key conceptual aspects for evaluating imaging as an outcome measurement instrument, discuss how these aspects can be assessed through OFISA, and identify three key lessons to improve the quality of instrument selection process, including defining the measurement domain, identifying sources of variability, and incorporating these lessons into OFISA.

Reliability of the Preliminary OMERACT Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis MRI Score (OMERACT JAMRIS-SIJ)

Tarimobo M. Otobo et al.

Summary: This study assessed the reliability of the juvenile idiopathic arthritis magnetic resonance imaging scoring system (JAMRIS-SIJ), revealing good inter-rater agreement for bone marrow edema (BME) and ankylosis scores, while variability and lower reliability were observed for other items. Future directions should focus on refining scores, definitions, and interpretation methods before validation of JAMRIS-SIJ.

Normal subchondral high T2 signal on MRI mimicking sacroiliitis in children: frequency, age distribution, and relationship to skeletal maturity

Nele Herregods et al.

Summary: Subchondral T2 flaring is common in prepubertal children's sacroiliac joints, with sacral-predominance and symmetry. Signal changes decrease as sacral apophyses close, and are more frequent in boys. Iliac signal does not correlate with other locations. Flaring that is asymmetrical, greater in ilium than sacrum, or intense in a teenager with closed apophyses may indicate pathologic bone marrow edema.
