An ultrasensitive and selective method for visual detection of heparin in 100 % human plasma

Shrishti P. Pandey et al.

Summary: Designing a probe molecule for visually detecting the commonly used blood anticoagulant, Heparin, is challenging. This study introduces TO-PRO-3 as a cyanine-based probe that shows a large blue shift in absorption maximum when heparin is present. The spectroscopic features indicate the formation of H-aggregation of TO-PRO-3 in the presence of heparin. The probe exhibits high selectivity for heparin and has a low LOD in aqueous samples.

A near-infrared fluorescent probe with AIE properties for rapid detection of Heparin

Jian Cao et al.

Summary: We have designed an effective fluorescent probe for the detection and quantitation of Heparin. The probe, QM-CO, emits a near-infrared aggregation-induced emission (AIE) when affected by Heparin, with a fluorescence emission intensity that is 4.62-fold higher than the free QM-CO. The AIE-based near infrared fluorescent probe QM-CO achieves a long wavelength emission and good selectivity for Heparin.

A cationic aggregation-induced emission luminogen for colorimetric and fluorimetric detection of heparin with a dual-read approach, stability and applicability in a 10% serum matrix

Xiaomeng Liang et al.

Summary: A novel double-charged cationic aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogen PYNN was designed and synthesized for efficient colorimetric and fluorimetric detection of heparin (Hep). The spectral response of PYNN to Hep is highly sensitive, selective, and stable, and it can be used for dual-readout of Hep levels in a 10% serum matrix without interference from serum components.

Summary: A new fluorene-pyridine oligoelectrolyte (OFP) was synthesized using a simple one-pot Sonogashira approach, leading to the fabrication of a small cationic oligomer nanosensor OFPNPs with a diameter of approximately 1.2 nm. This nanoplatform, with low cytotoxicity, enables ultrasensitive fluorescence detection of heparin and protamine at detection limits as low as 1.2 ng mL(-1) and 0.5 ng mL(-1) respectively.
