Construction of ultra-fast hydrogen sensor for dissolved gas detection in oil-immersed transformers based on titanium dioxide quantum dots modified tin dioxide nanosheets

Zijian Wang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the gas sensing performance of TiO2-SnO2 sensor to H2, and finds that the TiO2 (1 %)-SnO2 sensor demonstrates excellent gas sensing performance to H2 at the optimal operating temperature of 400 degrees C, such as short response and recovery time (2 s and 5 s to 200 ppm H2), excellent stability, outstanding selectivity, and large detection range of 4.8-5000 ppm. The gas sensing mechanism is further elaborated through theoretical calculations. This gas sensor is expected to provide a choice for the dissolved gas analysis (DGA) method in transformer oil analysis.

Local Gaussian process regression with small sample data for temperature and humidity compensation of polyaniline-cerium dioxide NH3 sensor

Can Liu et al.

Summary: Gas sensors have made great progress in their performance, but they are often affected by temperature and humidity. In this study, a local Gaussian process regression with small samples is proposed for temperature and humidity compensation of gas sensors. The results show that this compensation strategy can effectively improve the measurement accuracy of gas sensors, with high precision and low computational cost.

Zaihua Duan et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the capacitive humidity sensing performance of zirconium phosphate (ZrP) nanoplates. The ZrP humidity sensor showed a wide response range, high sensitivity, short recovery time, and good repeatability at the optimal working frequency and room temperature. The humidity sensing mechanism of the ZrP sensor was analyzed based on characterization, dielectric constant, and impedance testing results.

Heterostructure construction of SnS2 Debye nanowires modified with ZnO nanorods for chemiresistive H2S detection in sulfur hexafluoride decomposition products

Mingcong Tang et al.

Summary: A sensitive H2S sensor for detecting low concentrations of H2S in SF6 electrical equipment was developed using ZnO nanorods-modified SnS2 Debye nanowires. At an optimum temperature of 180 degrees C, the sensor showed a response time of 10 s and a recovery time of 51 s to 30 ppm H2S, with a response value of 71.2%. The sensor exhibited a detection limit as low as 50 ppb for H2S, along with excellent stability, moisture resistance, and long-term stability. The study also demonstrated that ZnO enhanced the adsorption performance of SnS2 on H2S. The H2S sensor prepared using ZnO-SnS2 is expected to be a promising candidate for detecting hazardous gases in the environment and SF6 decomposition products.

Construction of LaF3 QD-modified SnS2 nanorod composites for ultrasensitive detection of H2S

Mingcong Tang et al.

Summary: Fast detection of low-concentration H2S gas is crucial for the proper functioning of SF6 electrical insulation equipment. A sensor made of LaF3 quantum dot modified SnS2 nanorods was developed for H2S gas detection, which exhibited excellent stability, moisture resistance, selectivity, and long-term stability at an optimal operating temperature of 150°C. The sensor showed a response value of 85.2% to 30 ppm H2S, with response and recovery times of 4 s and 93 s, respectively. The enhanced performance of the sensor can be attributed to the synergistic effect and heterojunction effect of the LaF3 quantum dots.

Schottky Contacts Regularized Linear Regression for Signal Inconsistency Circumvent in Resistive Gas Micro-Nanosensors

Yuxin Zhao et al.

Summary: In the study, a novel sensing data interpretation method is proposed based on the discovery of a strong linear relation between initial resistance in air and the absolute change in resistance after exposure to target gas. This correlation is found to be universal across different sensing materials and gas atmospheres, and can also be applied to graphene-based interdigital microelectrodes. Utilizing this correlation, a calibration procedure is embedded in a pocket-size sensor prototype, showing highly credible response outcomes compared to commercial apparatus.
