The main goal of this paper is to analyze the nonlinear transient behavior of FGSS shells subjected to blast loading in a thermal environment using the MITC4 based on FSDT. The proposed method provides results that are in good agreement with those in existing literature, and a thorough investigation into the nonlinear transient behavior of FGSS shells is conducted.
The main goal of this paper is to analyze the nonlinear transient of FGSS shells subjected to blast loading in a thermal environment using the MITC4 based on FSDT. The MITC4 originates from a three-dimensional continuum description degenerated to shell behaviour which can be applied to both thick and thin shells. The FGSS shell is composed of a metal core sandwiched between two FGM skin layers. In this research, we address the impact of geometrical nonlinearity arising from mid-plane stretching, specifically emphasizing the von Karman geometrical nonlinearity. The results obtained from the proposed method are very agreement with the results in available works in the literature. Moreover, a thorough investigation into the nonlinear transient of FGSS shells is conducted, exploring the complete impact of various input parameters.
