Generation of vortex N2+ lasing

Y. U. E. Hu et al.

Summary: Harnessing structured light has multidisciplinary applications, including remote driving microrobots, sensing, communications, and ultrahigh resolution imaging. We experimentally demonstrated the generation of a vortex N-2(+) lasing using a wavefront structured near-IR femtosecond pulse. The efficiency of N-2(+) lasing generation is higher for the vortex pump beam compared to a plane wavefront pump beam at high pumping energy. Our results show the potential for remote structured N-2(+) lasing.

Coherent Manipulation of Extreme-Ultraviolet Bessel Vortex Beams from Solids by Active Wavefront Shaping of Driving Fundamental Beams

Byunggi Kim et al.

Summary: The article introduces a solid-based noncollinear HHG scheme that achieves active control of EUV harmonic beam propagation through wavefront manipulation. It also successfully converts EUV harmonics generated by double-annular beams into Bessel vortex beams, achieving millimeter-level depth-of-focus and nanoscale spatial resolution.

Extreme-ultraviolet vector-vortex beams from high harmonic generation

Alba de las Heras et al.

Summary: In this study, we demonstrate the generation of vector-vortex beams (VVB) with specific spin and orbital angular momentum in the extreme ultraviolet through high-order harmonic generation. We find that the conversion efficiency of high-harmonic VVB is related to the topological charge of the driving beam, and they exhibit robust generation and smooth propagation properties. Our work opens up the possibility of synthesizing attosecond helical structures with spatially varying polarization, providing a unique tool to probe spatiotemporal dynamics in inhomogeneous media or polarization-dependent systems.

Spatial and spectral variations of high-order harmonics generated in noble gases

M. Iqbal et al.

Summary: We report on the spatial and spectral variation of high-order harmonics generation from noble gases when driven by high-repetition rate femtosecond laser with different peak intensity and polarization states. Increasing the intensity of the driving pulses leads to disappearance of harmonics yield in the on-axis part of the spatial distribution of the harmonics in Xe target, contrary to Ar and Kr. The spectral depletion of harmonics generated in Ar and Xe using radially and azimuthally polarized Gaussian-Laguerre two-color DPs is also observed.

Application of vector beams for enhanced high-order harmonics generation in laser-induced plasmas

Mottamchetty Venkatesh et al.

Summary: Intense high-order harmonics can be generated by phase- and polarization-structured femtosecond pulses. The strength of low-order harmonics varies with different driving beams (radially polarized beam, azimuthally polarized beam, and their superposition) in laser-induced plasmas. The phenomenon can be explained by phase matching and specific properties of vector beams.

High-order harmonics generation in the laser-induced lead-free perovskites-containing plasmas

Vyacheslav V. Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigates high-order harmonics generation in laser-induced plasmas on the surfaces of lead-free perovskites. The authors analyze the generation of harmonics in the plasmas of (CH3NH3)2CuCl4 and (CH3NH3)2CuBr4 during their ablation by different laser pulses. They study the modifications of high-order harmonics spectra using a color pump scheme and examine the influence of laser chirp and pulse duration on the dynamics of harmonics generation.

Harmonics Generation in the Laser-Induced Plasmas of Metal and Semiconductor Carbide Nanoparticles

Vyacheslav V. V. Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, we generated harmonics of laser pulses in the extreme ultraviolet range using carbon-containing plasma and analyzed the spectral characteristics. We found that the nanoparticles-contained plasma demonstrated chirp-related harmonic cut-off scaling, which was validated by simplified two-color pump model calculations.

Vector Optical Beam with Controllable Variation of Polarization during Propagation in Free Space: A Review

Wen-Yue Wang et al.

Summary: Research on vector optical beams with longitudinally varying polarization has attracted significant attention in recent years, offering new possibilities for applications in volume laser machining, longitudinal detection, and in vivo micromanipulation compared to traditional vector optical beams. Two theoretical strategies for achieving this unique optical beam involve constructing longitudinally varying phase difference and amplitude difference, with relevant generation methods divided into modulation of complex amplitude in real space and filtering of the spatial spectrum. Current issues and future prospects for vector optical beams with longitudinally varying polarization are also discussed.

Resonance-enhanced high harmonic in meta ions driven by elliptically polarized laser pulses

Yu Hang Lai et al.

Summary: The study found that resonance results in a less rapid decay of harmonic yield with increasing driving laser ellipticity, and this phenomenon is qualitatively reproduced in quantum mechanical simulations. These findings provide new evidence to support previously proposed mechanisms for enhancement.

Investigation of high harmonic generation from laser ablated plumes of silver

Srinivasa Rao Konda et al.

Summary: This study explores the characteristics of silver plasma in high harmonic generation, comparing the impact of different types of targets on harmonic yield and finding that plasma from nano-powders target produces higher harmonic yields. The ion types of the measured plasma were determined by comparing experimental data, with the results indicating significantly more nanoparticles in plasma generated from nano-powder samples than in plasma from bulk samples.

Intense high-order harmonic vector beams from relativistic plasma mirrors

Zi-Yu Chen et al.

Summary: Intense vector beams in the extreme-ultraviolet to x-ray spectral region can be generated through high harmonic generation (HHG) in the relativistic regime, in which the vector features of the fundamental laser beam are transferred to the higher frequency emission and synthesized into attosecond vector beams. It is also possible to generate vector harmonic beams carrying orbital angular momentum, opening up new opportunities in various applications such as imaging with high spatial and temporal resolution, ultrafast magnetic spectroscopy, and particle manipulation.
