Silk fibroin-chitosan aerogel reinforced by nanofibers for enhanced osteogenic differentiation in MC3T3-E1 cells

Rong Rong et al.

Summary: Prepared silk fibroin-chitosan aerogel scaffolds reinforced with silk fibroin nanofibers exhibit biocompatibility, mechanical robustness, and porous structure, making them suitable for cell migration and bone regeneration. The addition of nanofibers enhances the compressive stress resistance, porosity, and water uptake ratio of the aerogels. Cell viability and migration are improved on the nanofiber-reinforced scaffolds. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay shows that the scaffolds promote osteogenic differentiation.

EZH2 depletion potentiates MYC degradation inhibiting neuroblastoma and small cell carcinoma tumor formation

Liyuan Wang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that EZH2 directly interacts with MYC and MYCN, promoting their stabilization in a methyltransferase-independent manner. By competing against SCFFBW7 ubiquitin ligase, EZH2 counteracts the degradation of MYC and MYCN, highlighting their role as global oncogenic effectors of EZH2. This research suggests that pharmacologic degradation of EZH2 may be a potential therapeutic approach for MYC-driven cancers.
