Qeirat Values and Victim Blaming in Iran: The Mediating Effect of Culture-Specific Gender Roles

Farzan Karimi-Malekabadi et al.

Summary: Sexual assault is a social problem in Iran, and this study examines the psychological factors that influence perceptions of sexual assault in Iranian culture. The research focuses on the relationship between moral concerns, culture-specific gender roles, and victim blaming. The results show that culture-specific values and proscriptions about women's roles and dress code play a mediating role in the link between moral foundations, culture-specific values, and victim blaming. The study also identifies specific factors that predict victim blaming in sexual assault scenarios in Iran, including Haya, religiosity, high Authority values, and low Care values.

Aggressors condemned for intimate partner violence: Sexist attitudes and distorted thoughts about women and the use of violence

Monica Guerrero-Molina et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the sexism attitudes and distorted thoughts about women and violence among Spanish aggressors found guilty of intimate partner violence. The study found a relationship between the aggressors' sexist attitudes and their distorted thoughts, and demonstrated that distorted thoughts about women and violence predicted a higher prevalence of sexist attitudes. The study also identified low education level and jealousy in the relationship as factors related to a greater presence of sexist attitudes. However, the study found that experiencing episodes of family violence in childhood did not necessarily lead to increased sexism among the aggressors.

The Dark Web of Machiavellianism and Psychopathy: Moral Disengagement in IT Organizations

Alexandra Maftei et al.

Summary: This paper examines the predictors of organizational moral disengagement, including Machiavellianism and psychopathy, as well as demographic variables such as gender, age, and work experience. The study findings indicate that Machiavellianism is the most important predictor of organizational moral disengagement, followed by gender (males). There is a significant negative association between organizational moral disengagement and age, suggesting that as we grow older, our level of organizational moral disengagement decreases. Machiavellianism and psychopathy are significantly associated with all moral disengagement mechanisms, except for diffusion of responsibility, with the strongest associations found between Machiavellianism and moral justification, and between psychopathy and euphemistic language.

Summary: This study aims to clarify the causal relationship between the Dark Triad traits and psychological IPV perpetration in romantic relationships. Legitimizing Intimate Partner Violence: The Role of Romantic Love and the Mediating Effect of Patriarchal Ideologies

Solveig Lelaurain et al.

Summary: This study examined the relationship between adherence to romantic love and the legitimization of intimate partner violence, finding that participants who adhere more to romantic love are more likely to blame the victim and exonerate the perpetrator, as well as show a positive link with ambivalent sexism and domestic violence myths. The results also demonstrated that the relationship between romantic love and the legitimization of violence is mediated by ambivalent sexism and domestic violence myths.
