Mechanistic Studies of the Deoxydehydration of Polyols Catalyzed by a Mo(VI) Dioxo(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato) Complex

Randy Tran et al.

Summary: A dioxo-Mo(VI) catalyst, MoO2(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato)(HMPA), was used to dehydrate and deoxygenate biomass-derived polyols and diols to produce alkenes and dienes. The reaction conditions were optimized using PPh3 and 1-phenyl-1,2-ethanediol, resulting in a 93% yield of styrene.

Green and chemo selective amine methylation using methanol by an organometallic ruthenium complex

Sara Dindar et al.

Summary: A green and convenient catalytic N-methylation of aniline and n-hexylamine using methanol as a dual methylation agent and solvent was investigated, with a new ruthenium carbonyl complex as the homogeneous catalyst. The complex's solid-state structure was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis, showing excellent conversion and selectivity towards N-methylaniline and N,N-hexyldimethylamine at 140 degrees C.

Summary: In this study, complexes of Zinc(II), Cadmium(II), and Mercury(II) with Xantphos were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The thermal decomposition of the complexes led to the formation of corresponding metal oxide nanoparticles, which were characterized by various techniques including XRD, SEM, and IR spectroscopy.
