The predictability of the mandibular curve of Wilson, buccolingual crown inclination, and transverse expansion expression with Invisalign treatment

Shaun Goh et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the mandibular curve of Wilson (COW) handling using the Invisalign appliance. The study also assessed the buccolingual crown inclinations and transverse expansions to identify any ineffective regions in the dental arch. Results showed that the Invisalign appliance tends to over-flatten the mandibular COW, and only the mandibular second molars experienced more expansion than predicted by ClinCheck.

The predictability of maxillary curve of Wilson leveling with the Invisalign appliance

Zi Wei Lim et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the predictability of Invisalign appliance in treating the maxillary curve of Wilson. The results showed that Invisalign was not able to reliably control the maxillary curve, leading to overexpression of buccal crown tip and underexpression of arch width.

The predictability of the mandibular curve of Spee leveling with the Invisalign appliance

Shaun Goh et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the predictability and characteristics of mandibular curve of Spee (COS) leveling using the Invisalign appliance. The results showed that Invisalign often overestimated the improvement of COS leveling, with the first molars showing the lowest accuracy. Clinicians should consider overcorrection and the use of auxiliary appliances to improve mandibular COS leveling.

Accuracy of planned tooth movement with lingual straight wire technique

Paolo Albertini et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the accuracy of torque, tip, rotation, and transverse width values with lingual straight-wire technique. Results showed high accuracy (>84%) in most tooth movements, except for lower accuracy in certain teeth. Planned expansion of the arches only partially occurred.

Class II correction by maxillary en masse distalization using a completely customized lingual appliance and a novel mini-screw anchorage concept - preliminary results

Frauke Beyling et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of a novel en masse distalization method in combination with a completely customized lingual appliance in correcting Angle Class II malocclusion. The results showed a predictable correction of canine relationship and overjet, with statistically significant equivalence between the treatment plan and the final outcome. The technique presented in this study provides a reliable method for correcting Angle Class II malocclusion through dentoalveolar compensation with maxillary en masse distalization.
