Adsorption effect of two modified kaolin materials on wastewater containing multi-component organic dyes

Zike Huang et al.

Summary: Adsorption method is an important approach for treating organic dye wastewater, and modified kaolin materials have the potential to remove pollutants. In this study, two modified kaolin materials were prepared and their adsorption properties for a solution containing three organic dyes were investigated. The results showed that both materials had the highest adsorption capacity for methylene blue. Factors such as the quality of adsorbents, time, Cl- concentration, pH, and temperature influenced the adsorption effect. Adjusting these factors could achieve the best adsorption effect. The adsorption process was found to be a chemical adsorption and endothermic process, with methylene blue undergoing monolayer adsorption.
